Foxborough High Assistant Principal Joe Heinricher Passes Away

The long time Foxborough resident and high school assistant principal died overnight.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - The Foxborough community has lost a well-known member.

Superintendent Debra Spinelli told Foxborough Patch that Foxborough High School Assistant Principal Joe Heinricher passes away suddenly Thursday night.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences and love to Joe's wife Sharon, the extended Heinricher family, the students and staff in his beloved football program, and Joe's huge family of friends," Spinelli said.

High school staff members were notified by phone Friday morning. Plans are in place to support staff and students. Counselors and local clergy are on site for support, according to Spinelli.

Heinricher was only three months away from retirement.

A Foxborough native, Heinricher graduated from Foxborough High School and served as a gym teacher before coming an assistant principal. He also was a coach on the football team and was formerly a throwing coach for the track and field team.
