Foxborough Hires Interim High School Assistant Principal

The school has temporarily filled the position left vacant by the sudden passing of Joe Heinricher.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - A temporary assistant principal at Foxborough High School started this week.

Superintendent Debra Spinelli told the school committee this week that Kathleen Davis-McDonough will fill the vacancy left by the death of Joe Heinricher. She started Wednesday and will remain at the school until the end of the school year.

Davis-McDonough comes to Foxborough with years of experience, including seven as an assistant principal in Duxbury. In the past, she has worked alongside Foxborough High School Principal Diana Myers-Pachla.

With an interim in place, the school district will continue to find a permanent replacement. Prior to his unexpected passing, Heinricher was planning on retiring at the end of the school year.

“We fully expected to have a new assistant principal starting July 1,” Spinelli said.

Over 70 people have applied for the job, with interviews starting soon, according to Spinelli.

Davis-McDonough will not be a candidate for the permanent position.

“We would never have an interim who is hoping to have the position because it seems like you’ve already made the decision,” Spinelli said.
