Foxborough To Hold Patriots Super Bowl Rally
Local supporters will gather at the Booth Playground and the Common on the morning before Super Bowl LII.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Get your signs and Patriots gear ready, Foxborough isn't done cheering on their hometown NFL team.
The Foxboro Jaycees announced Tuesday that they will hold a Super Bowl LII rally for the AFC Champions Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. The event starts at the Booth Playground with poster making and a drone shot of the scene. At 10:50 a.m., the group will march to the Common, with the rally to start at 11 a.m. and end at noon.
Lynda Walsh, the main organizer of the rally, said at Tuesday's selectmen meeting that she's hoping that this year's edition will be identical to last year's rally for superstitious reasons. State Senator Paul Feeney will be back to provide the tunes, more surprises are expected, and there will be Patriots signs all over the common. The displays of support started popping up this week.

Selectman Jim DeVellis said the Kraft Group is very excited about the rally and have donated 50 blank poster boards for residents to decorate. The town will provide 50 as well. The posters boards are available at the Orpheum. Judges will determine the best poster and hand out an autographed Rob Gronkowski jersey as the prize.
The Jaycees will also be teaming up with Foxborough Cable Access and DeVellis for a video for the Patriots on local superfans with interesting stories. If you've decorated your house, office, or business, you can contact DeVellis or Lynda Walsh of the Jaycees.

FCA will also record the rally to send to the Patriots Saturday night.
The Patriots' contribution is one of the recent ways they have attempted to improve community outreach. DeVellis said the team recently held a team dinner for Foxborough season ticket holders with a question and answer session. In response to a question about the Super Bowl ticket lottery, the team decided to hold a separate lottery exclusive to season ticket holders from Foxborough.
"It’s kinda a reach out to work better with the community," DeVellis said. "I think it’s enough, not going overboard."
The team will take a little of Foxborough with them to Minneapolis. Local band Thirty 6 Red is going to the big game to provide pre and post-game entertainment.
In the event of poor weather, the rally will be held at the Marilyn Rodman Performing Arts Center, better known as the Orpheum Theater.
