Foxborough Man Commended for Finding Stolen Items

Resident Frederic Bartlett found two purses that were stolen.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - Police in Foxborough are hailing a local man for finding two stolen purses near his home.

According to the Foxborough Police Department, Frederic Bartlett observed two discarded purses on top of trash bags in an open dumpster near his home.

The purses, which included personal items including children’s photos and car keys, were taken to the police station and turned over to dispatcher Sean McRae and Officer Stephen Easter. Thankfully, Bartlett’s actions yielded positive results for two females.

“We would like to commend the actions of Mr. Frederic Bartlett for going above and beyond the call of duty. Bartlett’s actions have helped two victims of theft be reunited with their personal belongings; some of which if lost forever would have been irreplaceable. We are grateful that there are citizens like Bartlett in the community who are willing to help those whom he has never met,” the department wrote on Facebook.

Detective Patrick Morrison was able to find one of the owners, who was also a victim of a purse theft in Foxborough. An investigation revealed that the second purse was stolen from a car in Waltham. Both women were able to receive their stolen purses.

Police are investigating who stole the purses.
