Foxborough Native Named to All-SEC Gymnastics Team

FOXBOROUGH, MA - A Foxborough native is among the best when it comes to gymnastics in the Southeastern Conference.

University of Kentucky freshman Alex Hyland was recently named to the All-SEC and All-Freshman teams.

At the conference championship last week, Hyland led the team with a 9.8 on the uneven bars, 9.9 on the balance beam, and a 9.825 in floor exercises.

Prior to becoming a Wildcat, the Foxborough High School graduate qualified for Junior Olympics National Championship four times and finished third in floor exercises in 2013 and fourth in 2014. On the state level, she is a four-time event and all-around champion.

Hyland and the Wildcats will return to competition at the regional round of the NCAA gymnastic championship in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
