Foxborough Police Looking For Driver Posing As Police

A motorist told Foxborough police the driver flashed blue emergency lights and used a loudspeaker to speed through traffic on South Street.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Police are investigating after residents said a van driver was posing as a police officer to speed past other motorists. Around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, police received a complaint that someone driving a blue Chevrolet van with ladder racks on top was flashing blue lights and using a loudspeaker to drive past other motorists on South Street in the area of West Street.

Witnesses told police the driver was tailgating him and driving aggressively before flashing the lights.

Foxborough police said they were not aware of any legitimate police operations going on in the South Street area at that time. Police said if there's ever a question of the legitimacy of any vehicle flashing emergency lights, they should call 911, activate their hazard lights and drive to a public place.
