Foxborough School Committee Member to Receive National Theater Award

School committee member Beverly Lord has been awarded the American Association of Community Theaters Fellow Award.

School committee member Beverly Lord has received recognition for her involvement in the world of community theater.

The Foxborough resident has been awarded the American Association of Community Theaters Fellow Award that will be presented to her during the AACT Community Festival in Grand Rapids, MI in June.

The award is given to members to for over a period of years significantly show the ideas and ideals of community theater.

Lord, a former French teacher, majored in theater in college and studied the art abroad in France. As an educator, she directed several musicals.

In addition to her work with the AACT, Lord has severed on the Foxborough Arts Council, is on a committee for the arts in Boston, and performs for Bay Colony Production and the Friendly Society of Weston.

She also serves on the board for the New England Theater Conference and has served as their delegate twice for the International Amateur Theater Association Conference and Festival in Monaco.
