Foxborough School Committee Member Resigns

Committee member Katie Adair has resigned from her position.

The Foxborough School Committee will lose a member come next week.

Citing changes in her living situation and a move out of Foxborough, school committee member Katie Adair announced her resignation from the committee during Monday’s school committee meeting.

“I’m so grateful for having the opportunity to serve on the school committee, serve the citizens and students of Foxborough for the past nine years. I want to thank the citizens of Foxborough who have supported me since 2006,” Adair said at the end of Monday’s meeting.

“I think we’re all very appreciative of your service. When I came on as the new guy, you helped me and we worked together as chair/vice chair and I think we did a great job,” Chairman Bruce Gardner said.

Committee member Stephen Udden also thanked Adair for taking him under her wing when he first joined the committee in 2013.

Superintendent Debra Spinelli said anytime Adair had a question for her, she always had the best interest of the students in mind.

“In the 7.5 years since I’ve been back, she has never come to me with a personal agenda, not once, and that’s what public service is about,” Spinelli said.

Adair’s final meeting will be Feb. 2, with the resignation going into effect on Feb. 6.
