Foxborough Snowstorm Central: Winter Weather Warning Issued

A winter storm is expected to bring a few inches of snow and high winds for Foxborough Saturday.


FOXBOROUGH, MA — Winter Storm Jonas will drop 6-9 inches of snow on Foxborough this weekend.

The storm is expected to wreak havoc on the mid-Atlantic Friday, possibly dropping up to 3 feet of snow on that region. By the time it reaches Massachusetts, however, it will have weakened.

Foxborough is expected to receive six to nine inches of snow and wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Due to the weather, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning. The warning is issued by the NWS when an average of six or more inches of snow is expected in a 12-hour period, or eight or more inches in a 24-hour period.

Snow will continue through the afternoon and evening, with snowfall rates possibly hitting one to two inches per hour, according to the NWS.

Gusty winds up to 40 mph should be expected. The wind will result in blowing snow and poor visibility at times.

The snow will begin to taper off at midnight.

The warning is in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday.
