Foxborough VFW Hopes to Buy Back Building
The group is hoping to repurchase the building.
With the owner of the building planning to sell the property, the Foxborough branch of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is now looking into buying back their building.
Amidst poor finances and the recession, the group lost the building to foreclosure in 2008.
Currently, the VFW rents the portion of the building used for their meetings but group officials say a sale is something they cannot afford.

Currently, the group has set up a fundraising campaign on YouCaring to help raise the $350,000 needed to buy the building. As of the evening of July 13, only $1,460 has been raised.
“I know its a lot of money to be raised, but think of these brave men and women who fought for this country that deserve all the help they can get from working dogs to homes built for their needs. We are proud to give back to our Veterans and our community, please help us to continue our support for our future Veterans,” the page organized by Gregory Dickerman reads.

Currently, both the VFW and the American Legion buildings are on the market. With declining membership and younger veterans choosing to not join, there have been talks of merging the two groups but no concrete plans have been made.
