Laing’s family has requested that information about the extent of Laing’s injuries not be shared at this time.
Laing has worked for the Essex County District Attorney’s office as a Victim Witness Advocate since last summer. Essex DA Jonathan Blodgett released a statement about Laing on Wednesday.

“I have every confidence that Denna will face the recovery process with the same upbeat attitude and determination that she brings to her work,” Blodgett said. “I can also assure Denna and her family that they will not face this challenge alone and the members of the Essex District Attorney’s Office family stand with her and are rooting for her.”
