Get Your Kid's Car Seat Inspected, Installed By Foxborough Police

Car seats reduce the risk of injury by over 71 percent and reduce the risk of death by 28 percent.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Make sure your young children are safe in the car with a little help from the Foxborough Police Department. Police with the help of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, have organized a day to install car seats and conduct safety inspections on them.

The safety event was scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Feb. 28 at the police station at 8 Chestnut St.

"Keeping kids safe in the car is one of our most important jobs as parents and caregivers," police said in a statement on Facebook. "Car crashes are one of the leading causes of death and injury for kids. Proper use of car seats helps keep children safer in the event of a crash. Car seats reduce the risk of injury by over 71 percent and reduce the risk of death by 28 percent in comparison to children restrained by seat belts only. Booster seats reduce the risk of non-fatal injuries in a crash by 45 percent among 4-8-year-olds."
