Gillette Stadium Addition Approved by the Planning Board

The planning board recently approved a proposed 20,000 st. ft. 3-story building behind the stadium.

An addition to Gillette Stadium has been approved by the planning board.

Recently, the planning board gave the ok to a proposed 20,000 sq. ft. 3-story building behind the stadium that would be used to house employees and storage that needs new space due to the changes at the stadium.

The renovation and addition of a club area in the south end zone has caused a need for the stadium to create more space for storage and employees displaced by the new area.

During the meeting, it was noted that questions by Fire Chief Roger Hatfield on the turning radius for vehicles in the area, Police Chief Ed O’Leary on access to the holding area, and Building Commissioner Bill Casbarra on access to the MediVac were answered to their satisfaction.

Located in the back behind the south ramp, storage and staff would be located on the second and third floors with the first floor open for pedestrians and vehicles. The addition will likely go unseen by most partons at the stadium and is in an area off limits to the general public.
