Gillette Stadium to Request Extended Curfew for Kenny Chesney Shows

Stadium officials have asked the selectmen for permission for a later end time.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Talks of curfews and concert end times are set to return to the selectmen's table Tuesday night.

The board is scheduled to take up an action item from Gillette Stadium requesting a later curfew for two Kenny Chesney shows scheduled for Friday, Aug. 26 and Saturday, Aug. 27. The request is to extend the curfew from 11:15 p.m. to 11:40 p.m.

In a letter to Town Manager Bill Keegan, Jess Enos, the stadium's director of external affairs and business development, says the later end time is being requested because Chesney has a history of bringing his touring crew on stage at the end of the tour's last show as a thank you for their work. Enos says she's been assured that the show has been ending before 11:15 p.m.

"In the best interest of clarity and communication and given the precedent set by previous years at his performances, we are formally requesting a revised end time of 11:40 p.m. for both concerts," Enos wrote.

This will not be the first requests of this nature for the stadium this concert season. Earlier this year, a request for a 25-minute extension for two Guns N' Roses shows was denied by the board. The first show went three minutes over the curfew and the second went 10 minutes over time. The selectmen voted to issue a written warning, but no fine.

The selectmen approved the entertainment license for the Chesney shows on July 26.
