Jets Reportedly Used Birthday Cupcakes to Woo Dont'a Hightower

The New York Jets pulled out all the stop to get Dont'a Hightower to join their team by showing that they know when the linebacker's birthday is.

Hightower visited with the team Monday, a day that also happened to fall the day after his birthday. During the visit, the team had 'Happy Birthday Dont'a Hightower' on all the screens inside the Jets training facility, gave him birthday cupcakes during dinner, and sent his mom Jets gear, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Hightower was scheduled to leave New York Monday for a visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Hightower is a free agent who has played the past five seasons for New England.
