Letter to the Editor: Absolutely Don't Allow Medical Marijuana Dispensary

This reader has written a letter to the editor against a proposed medical marijuana dispensary.

The following was submitted as a letter to the editor to Foxborough Patch. If you would like to send a letter to the editor email Dan Libon at Dan.Libon@patch.com.

Absolutely don’t allow it.

Using Az and Colorado as an example, allowing these dispensaries in Foxborough will reduce the moral status and create an environment of accepting drug use.

I can say this because as a former NPS Park Ranger and still an NPS employee in both AZ and Colorado, it started as medical dispensaries that took hold in residential areas in residential homes, then only to be made legal recreationally. I have seen large crowds lingering around these “dispenseries” all hours. Is this what Massachusetts and Foxborough wants?

Or is it the tax money that they want?

Now your saying that medical marijuana is good to treat chronic pain, and what do I know about that? Quite a bit, as I too live in chronic pain that is often debilitating, but medical marijuana is not the only treatment and the dispenseries are not the answer! Dispenseries are only a foot in the door...you only need to look at Colorado AZ and Washington to see what happens.

I would recommend that the counsel shut this door now, because once the door is open, the cat is gone and so will the status of Foxborough.
