Level 3 Sex Offender Found Living Near Foxboro-Sharon Line: Cops

SHARON, MA — A Level 3 sex offender from Dennisport living near the Foxborough town line didn't tell authorities of his new location, police said.

Richard A. Hutchings, 27, was arrested Monday on two warrants. He will also face a charge of failing to properly register as a sex offender (subsequent offense), according to the Sharon Police Department.

At 11:04 p.m., Sharon Police responded to the area of Gavin’s Pond Road near South Main Street to assist a man with a medical issue. Upon arrival with the Sharon Fire, officers at the scene learned that Hutchings had two warrants out for his arrest. He was transported to the hospital and then placed in the custody of the Sharon Police Department.

Police later learned that Hutchings was staying at a home off of Gavin’s Pond Road and never informed the proper authorities. The homeowner told police that he was not aware of Hutchings' status as a sex offender. Hutchings is no longer staying at the home, police said.

Hutchings was scheduled to appear in Stoughton District Court.
