Liquor Licenses and Electricity Top Items on Annual Town Meeting Warrant

Town officials are putting together the warrant for the spring meeting.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - The Special Town Meeting hasn’t even happened yet but the town is gearing up for May’s Annual Town Meeting.

During a review of the draft warrant at Tuesday’s selectmen meeting, 21 articles were reviewed. Most of the articles consisted of yearly business including town budgets, the town report, election results, and contracts with town employees.

The two main articles will likely involve electricity aggregation and liquor licenses.

If passed, the town would enter an agreement with a power broker to buy electricity in bulk, a move that could save money for residents.

The liquor license article, if approved, would seek more licenses from the state legislature. With efforts to revitalize the downtown area and the renovation of Foxfield Plaza into Forbes Crossing, the selectmen have made efforts to provide more licenses for restaurants.
