Lonie Paxton and Ken Walter Visit Patriot Place
Patriots' 2001 Super Bowl Champs Lonie Paxton and Ken Walter made a special appearance at the new Olympia Sports store at Patriot Place.

Former New England Patriots long snapper Lonie Paxton and punter/holder Ken Walter made a special appearance at the new Olympia Sports store at Patriot Place on Friday, Sept. 16.
Two members of the Patriots’ 2001 Super Bowl Championship team took a trip down memory lane when they made a special appearance at the new Olympia Sports store that opened at Patriot Place on Sept. 14. Former Patriots long snapper Lonie Paxton and former punter/holder Ken Walter revisited the actual spot of the final play at Foxboro Stadium – Adam Vinatieri’s game-winning field goal in overtime of an AFC Divisional playoff game vs. the Oakland Raiders on Jan. 19, 2002. Paxton snapped the ball and Walter held as Vinatieri drilled the 23-yard game-winning field goal in the driving snow.

In partnership with The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon, the new store has marked the spot of Vinatieri’s game-winning with a monument commemorating the final play at Foxboro Stadium.
As part of Olympia Sports’ grand opening this week, Paxton and Walter was in the store to share stories about that game and the 2001 season, sign autographs and take photos with fans.
