MBTA to Give Presentation on Proposed Foxborough Commuter Rail Stop Tonight
The presentation is expected to start at 7:50 p.m.

Resident and town officials will hear the first details of a MBTA Commuter Rail station in Foxborough at the selectmen’s meeting tonight.
David Mohler, executive director of the state Office of Transportation Planning, is expected to give the presentation tonight in the Ahern Middle School auditorium. An hour has been put aside for the presentation.
In October, Town Manager Bill Keegan informed the selectmen that the MBTA was interested in buying the freight lines near Gillette Stadium for a Commuter Rail station.

Normally, the platform is used only on Patriots gameday and some special stadium events.
A possible train from Foxborough would take commuters to Boston though Walpole. Trains would not go through the center of town.

The MBTA is also looking to create a small depot that would house the train located near the former site of Spooky World behind the stadium.
The selectmen’s meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. with the presentation scheduled for 7:50 p.m.
