Medford Man Accused of Asking Foxborough Minor for Sex Gets Prison Time for Probation Violation

Peter Campobasso, 32, will spend 18 months in prison.

A Medford man will go to jail after admitting to cutting off his GPS device and contacting an underage girl.

Peter Campobasso, 32, was sentenced in Attleboro District Court to 18 months in prison, the balance of a 2 1/2-year term he received in January according to the Sun Chronicle.

In April, Campobasso was arrested for violating his probation by cutting off the GPS tracking bracelet he was required to wear as part of his probation.

The former carnival worker was arrested for two cases in the area last year. In Mansfield, he was charged with offering a 12-year-old gifts and cash in exchange for nude photos. In Foxborough, he was found guilty of attempting to lure a 15-year-old to the Renaissance Hotel at Patriot Place for sex.

Just released, he was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison, with one year to serve behind bars.

Campobasso will not be eligible to be released from prison until April 2018 and will remain on probation until 2022. He is registered as a Level 3 sex offender, the highest possible level with a high risk of reoffending.
