New Clubhouse At Braintree Municipal Golf Course Opens Thursday

The town will officially open the new clubhouse at the Braintree Municipal Golf Course Thursday evening.

From the Town of Braintree:

Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan and Golf Course Superintendent Daryn Brown will officially open the new clubhouse at the Braintree Municipal Golf Course on Thursday, June 22 at 5 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

“This newly modeled clubhouse will enhance the golfing experience at our public course and is another asset to our recreational spaces” said Sullivan. He noted the Braintree High School synthetic fields and the new Highlands playground which were built in 2011 as well as the Petersen Splash Pad at Watson Park which was built in 2013.

The construction of the new room took five months to construct and Sullivan lauded the efforts of Supt. Brown’s supervision and the work of former Public Works Director Tom Whalen as the project director. “Daryn and Tom combined their talents to create a beautiful new venue that all players will find exciting and enjoyable” said Sullivan.

Superintendent Brown added, “The new addition to the clubhouse will offer wonderful year round views of the golf course and along with much needed additional space and seating capacity. This is the first major improvement to the clubhouse in 30 years and it will be a great asset to the residents and our golfers. I’d like to thank the Mayor and Town Council for their support and a big thanks to all the employees who gave their time and energy to make this project happen.”
