New Deal Could Make Rob Gronkowski Highest Paid Tight End In NFL

The tight end has signed a new deal with the Patriots.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Rob Gronkowski is set to make some big bucks if gets the job done on the field this season.

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for Gronkowski, told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Patriots' tight end has a new deal with the team. The restructured contract could make Gronkowski the highest paid player at his position.

If Gronkowski plays 90 percent of the time, catches 80 receptions, earns 1,200 receiving yards, or earns All-Pro honors, he'll make $10.75 million. Eighty person playtime, 70 catches, 1,000 receiving yards, or 12 touchdowns will get him $8.75 million. Seventy percent playtime, 60 receptions, 800 receiving yards, or 10 touchdowns comes with a $6.75 million payday.

Per Schefter, Gronkowski was set to make $5.25 million in 2017.

And if football doesn't work out, he could join the WWE and take on world champion Jinder Mahal, who he put a beating on during WrestleMania.
