New England Patriots' AFC Divisional Playoff Opponent Set

New England finally knows who they can take out their frustration on this Saturday.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The Patriots finally know who they'll be able to take out their pent up frustration on this weekend. The Tennessee Titans will come to Gillette Stadium for a Saturday matchup at 8:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast on CBS and 98.5 The Sports Hub.

New England is the top seed in the AFC, earning a bye week during the playoff's first round. Tennessee beat Kansas City to move onto the divisional round weekend.

If the Patriots win, they'll face the winner of the Jacksonville and Pittsburgh game the following weekend for the AFC Championship. The winner moves on to the Super Bowl.

The Patriots have to be chomping at the bit to get on the field. A recent ESPN report detailed animosity between Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, a report owner Robert Kraft largely refuted and Brady severely downplayed in a recent radio interview.

New England hasn't played the Titans since winning a 2015 game at home, the sixth straight Patriots win in the series. One of those games was a 2009 blowout to the tune of 59-0.

The Patriots have played the Titans franchise twice in the playoffs, both in the AFC Divisional game. New England lost a 1978 home game at old Schaefer Stadium when they were the Houston Oilers, but the Patriots got revenge in a memorable 2004 game. New England won, 17-14, at home against co-MVP quarterback Steve McNair.

The Titans shocked Kansas City Saturday after coming back from a 21-3 deficit.
