New Name, Changes Coming to the Ancient Mariner
A new manager and name are in the works.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The name may change but the Ancient Mariner will remain in the family.
At a recent selectmen’s meeting, the board approved a liquor license transfer for the inn and lounge located on Mechanic Street. Tina Walker will receive the license and ownership of the building from her mother, who plans on retiring.
“We’ve spent a lot of time talking about it,” Walker told the selectmen.

While the inside of the building is not expected to change, Walker says she plans on doing work on the exterior. In addition to improving the outer portion of the building, the establishment will go through a name change and become the Rally Point Inn.
Aside from the exterior work, there are no plans for expansion.

“I think the building as it sits, there isn’t a lot of range to expand, maybe just expanding the menu. As far as the makeup of the building, it should remain as it is,” Walker said.
Walker has worked on and off at the Mariner with her mother for the past 16 years.
