A fiddle player who loves to make people dance, Laura’s specialty lies in bringing to life old tunes. Sometimes very traditional, sometimes re-imagined, her music is always buoyant and honest.Laura has performed alongside a range of fiddle luminaries including Darol Anger, Matt Glazer, Bruce Molsky and the great Swedish band Vasen. Laura graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in violin performance, and is currently busy playing fiddle and singing in several bands on the east coast: Honeysuckle Hoedown, the Acoustic Phenomenon and the Goodtime String Band. When she’s on the west coast, Laura loves to sit in with her old bands: Ruby Mountain String Band, Kali Yuga Hoedown and West Road.

The recipient of numerous awards, Laura has placed in the top five of her division at the National Fiddle Championships and has taken firsts at the Western Open Championships, the California State Championships, the Nevada State Championships and many regional contests. She runs a fiddle contest every August at the Redwood Empire Fair in Ukiah, CA, and has judged the Western Open and California State contests among others.

Laura is also an avid teacher, having worked with violin students for eight years at her private studio as well as at the Ukiah (CA) School of Music and the Waldorf School of Mendocino County.
