Over 1,500 in Foxborough Lose Power After Storm

The power outage comes after Foxborough was hit with bad weather this afternoon and early evening.


In the midst of tornado and thunderstorm warnings, over 1,500 homes in Foxborough lost their electricity Tuesday night.

As of 9:47 p.m. Tuesday, 26 homes in a neighborhood off Mechanic Street remain without power with a restoration time of 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Major streets that did not have power included parts of Route 1, Mechanic Street, Chestnut Street and all of Beach Street and North Street according to the National Grid outage map.

The outage comes on the heels of a fierce storm that quickly hit the area in the late afternoon and early evening. The town was under a tornado warning until 6:30 p.m., with a watch remaining until 11 p.m.
