Patch Patriots Roundup: Trade Deadline, Jalen Ramsey Back For Dolphins
Plus: Robert Kraft responded to the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, and the Patriots honored two with Hall of Fame inductions.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The New England Patriots pulled out a win against the Buffalo Bills last week, which may have cooled a certain seat that was — reportedly — getting quite hot, but it hasn't quelled any trade talks for others on the roster.
New England beat the Buffalo Bills 29-25 last Sunday, bringing the teams record to 2-5. Before the game, it was reported that head coach Bill Belichick signed a contract extension before the season, which was interesting timing with job security discussions ongoing.
Regardless, the team will look to carry the momentum with another division rival in the Miami Dolphins, who is getting back important reinforcements on its defense.

Superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey could play on Sunday, according to multiple reports, but the cornerback took to Twitter to say that the decision hasn't been made yet.
Ramsey was traded to the Dolphins this offseason but hasn't suited up for the team yet after he tore his meniscus in late July.

Robert Kraft Statement on Lewiston Shooting
A mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, has sent shockwaves across New England, including in Foxborough.
Robert Card, 40, is a person of interest in the attack that killed 18 people and left 13 injured at a bowling alley and restuarant Wednesday evening. The shooting started at around 7 p.m. Card was described as a firearms instructor believed to be in the Army Reserve and assigned to a training facility in Saco, Maine.
Gov. Maura Healey ordered flags at half-mast across the state in honor of the victims. She also said some patients from the shooting were being treated in Massachusetts.

Robert Kraft, the Patriots Chairman and CEO, also issued a statement on Thursday.
"The senseless act of violence that unfolded last night in Lewiston, Maine has left all of us across New England in shock and mourning. My heart goes out to the families, friends and loved ones of the victims, who are dealing with unimaginable pain and loss. Let us remember the victims, honor their lives, and continue to fight hate and violence in order to prevent these horrific tragedies."
Patriots Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Last weekend, the Patriots inducted Mike Vrabel and Dante Scarnecchia into the team's Hall of Fame.
Vrabel, now the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, was a longtime member of the team during the early days on the 2000s dynasty.
"During his eight-year tenure in New England, Vrabel appeared in 142 of 145 possible games, starting 127, including all 17 playoff games. He played a major role in the Patriots dynastic run that included three Super Bowl championships in four years (2001, 2003 and 2004)," the team said.
Vrabel will be joined at this year's ceremony by long-time assistant coach Dante Scarnecchia.
"Scarnecchia spent 36 years in the NFL, including 34 seasons with the Patriots (1982-88, 1991-2013, 2016-19). He was the longest-tenured NFL coach when he retired following the 2019 season," the team said.

Trade Deadline Buzz
It's never certain if a team will be active around the NFL trade deadline, but one insider said the Patriots are certainly open to talks.
Albert Breer reported this week that the team is "listening on everybody" when it comes to trade offers.
Josh Uche appears to be the name being floated out most often, with Breer stating that the team appears to be looking for third and fourth round picks when engaging in all trade talks — not specifically those regarding Uche.
