New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung waived this week's arraignment and pled not guilty to a felony charge of cocaine possession, The Boston Globe reported Monday morning.

Chung, 32, was indicted by a grand jury Aug. 8. Authorities said that arrest was from a June 25 visit to Chung's Meredith, NH, residence.

Chung's next court date is set for Nov. 8, the Globe reported. The Patriots have a bye that week.

Chung, who was a team captain last season, signed a contract extension in the offseason. He has been a part of three Super Bowl-winning teams over his two stints with New England.

Chung could be subject to league discipline regardless of the legal outcome.
