Patriot Place to Host First Ever Foxborough Street Painting Festival on May 2

Daylong event to feature local artists, free family activities and awards presentation sponsored by Foxboro Dental Associates.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Bring your imagination and join Patriot Place for a day of creative fun at the first ever Foxborough Street Painting Festival on Saturday, May 2, from noon to 6 p.m. The festival will feature local artwork from Foxborough and surrounding communities with the theme, “Where Smiles Come Alive,” along with a number of Patriot Place activities, including live music, caricature and balloon artists, games and more.

The festival, in partnership with the Foxborough Public Schools Art Department and Foxboro Dental Associates, aims to celebrate the arts and community through a day of family fun and activities throughout Patriot Place’s North Marketplace. Artists of all ages will complete registration from 9 a.m. to noon and be assigned a 5’x5’ cement square to design their own canvas from pastel chalks. The public will then be able to watch as the artists create their masterpieces throughout the day.

“The energy and talents of our young artists will be showcased in this enriching, educational experience,” said Kelly Arcacha, district visual art department head at Foxborough Public Schools. “Community art events like this one are amazing opportunities for our students to establish meaningful relationships with local professional artists, a complement to our studio classroom curriculum. I’m so excited for not only the exhibition of work, but also the collaborations that will take place as students navigate their 5’x5’ concrete canvas next to neighboring artists. This innovative learning experience would not have been possible without the incredible support of Patriot Place and Foxboro Dental.”

Additionally, the Foxborough Art Association will participate in a Paint Out event at The Artist’s Studio and Gallery, located across from Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse.

“We are very excited to partner with the Foxborough Public Schools Art Department and Foxboro Dental Associates to host the first ever Foxborough Street Painting Festival,” said Patriot Place Marketing Director Diana Griffin. “Finding ways to celebrate culture and community is extremely important to us and something we strive for through our many family events held annually at Patriot Place. What’s great about this event is that it highlights the many talents of local students and artists in a fun and creative way. I cannot wait to see all of the great artwork!”
