The New England Patriots improved to a 9-2 record with the win over the Jets last week and have now had a winning record for 16 consecutive seasons. The Patriots have introduced a series of initiatives throughout the 2016 season to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the 2001 Super Bowl Championship team. The season-long celebration included special content that gives fans the opportunity to relive that magical season. The weekly features will culminate this Sunday with a special reunion of the 2001 team during a halftime ceremony this Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Rams at Gillette Stadium.

Series History
The Patriots will play against the Los Angeles Rams for the first time since a 14-0 loss at Los Angeles on Sept. 13, 1992. The franchise moved to St. Louis following the 1994 season before returning to Los Angeles this past offseason.
Overall, the Patriots lead the series by a 7-5 margin, including the team’s first of four Super Bowl wins in Super Bowl XXXVI. New England scored one of the greatest victories in franchise history when it defeated the heavily favored Rams for the NFL championship on Feb. 3, 2002, in Super Bowl XXXVI. That victory followed a tight game in the 2001 regular season that ended in a 24-17 St. Louis victory at Foxboro Stadium.
The two team’s last played against each other in 2012 in a game played in London on Oct. 28, 2012 with the Patriots winning, 45-7.
This week’s game will mark the Rams second visit to Gillette stadium for a regular-season game. The Rams first played at Gillette in the regular season on Oct. 26, 2008, with the Patriots coming out ahead, 23-16.
The Patriots are 4-2 against the Rams in road games, including 2-1 at Anaheim Stadium when the team was located in Los Angeles and 1-1 in games played in St. Louis.
The series dates back to 1974, when the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams by a 20-14 score at what was then Schaefer Stadium.
