Plainville Man Indicted After Killing His Mother: DA
Sean Murphy, 21, of Plainville was arrested at Patriot Place in Foxborough after police said he stabbed his mother to death.
PLAINVILLE, MA — A Plainville man was indicted Thursday by a Norfolk County Grand Jury after prosecutors said he stabbed his mother to death. Sean Murphy, 21, was charged with the murder of Carlyn Murphy, 51. Sean Murphy pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.
Around 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 24, police said they were called to the Murphys' home on Landau Road. Police said Carlyn Murphy was found dead with two stab wounds. Sean Murphy's father told officers he believed his son killed her, police said.
Police said Sean Murphy was arrested at Patriot Place in Foxborough about an hour after the 911 call. He had a knife on him when he was arrested, according to police.

Sean Murphy will be arraigned at Norfolk Superior Court at a later date.
