Police Say Man Used Fake $100 Bill At Liquor Store, Left With Real Cash

A man who used fake cash to pay items at a liquor store near the Mansfield-Foxborough line is now wanted by police.

MANSFIELD, MA — A man who used fake cash to pay items at a liquor store near the Mansfield-Foxborough line is now wanted by police.

Last weekend, the pictured suspect attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill at Route 106 Wine and Spirits on Chauncy Street. Police say while fake, the bill was able to pass the marker test, allowing him to leave with a $50.88 bottle of Hennessy Privilege and $49.22 in cash, according to police.

Police describe the suspect as 20-30 years old with an earring in his right ear. If he is found, he is likely to face charges of larceny and uttering a counterfeit note.
