Procedural Error Leaves DeVellis as Selectmen Chair
Due to questions in the procedure to appoint leadership positions, Jim DeVellis appears to be the selectmen chair.

Who exactly is the chairman of the Foxborough Board of Selectmen?
Coming out of Tuesday’s meeting it appeared to be John Gray, but based on procedure, it might be Jim DeVellis.
After DeVellis was named the chair, a revote was taken with Gray taking the position, but without a vote to rescind the first vote, or a selectman seconding Gray’s nomination.

With the procedure in question, DeVellis told the Sun Chronicle that Town Manager Bill Keegan informed him that he was still the chair and a re-vote will take place, likely on May 26.
On Tuesday, David Feldman nominated DeVellis to be the chair, a nomination for Gray by Ginny Coppola immediately followed.

Despite a 3-2 vote in favor of DeVellis, he would give up the position after a tense discussion over whether Gray should receive the position after service as the vice-chair.
DeVellis declined to say if he would vote for Gray again or accept a nomination.
