REPORT: Hockey Player Injured at Gillette Stadium Expected to Sue Patriots, NHL
Deena Laing suffered a spinal injury while playing in the Women's Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium.

A woman’s hockey player who was injured during a game at Gillette Stadium is expected to sue the NHL, the New England Patriots, the National Women’s Hockey League, and Canadian Women’s Hockey League.
Deena Laing, a player for the NWHL’s Boston Pride, crashed into the boards of the stadium’s rink during a Dec. 31 game against the CWHL’s Les Canadiennes. She was taken off the ice on a stretcher.
Players signed a liability waiver before the game, according to the New York Post, but the waiver was based on the ice being in playable condition, a source told the newspaper. There were reports that the ice surface was soft at the time of the game.
