Report: Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill Leads State in Convicted OUI Last Drink Reports

A study of the last 4 years shows that the restaurant leads the state in last drink reports from people convicted of OUIs.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A study of over 4 years of last drink reports shows that Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill in Foxborough is responsible for the most.

The court data, compiled in a report by the Boston Globe, shows that since January 2012, 46 convicted drunk drivers named the Patriot Place restaurant and bar as the last place they consumed alcohol before they were arrested for operating under the influence of liquor. The Grog in Newburyport and Partner's Pub in Fitchburg came in a tie for second with 36 each.

Gillette Stadium came in fourth with 35.

Barry Birks, vice president of Toby Keith's-owner CRGE Foxborough LLC, told the Globe that they were embarrassed by the number and noted that last drink reports have decreased since a change in management in February.

Kraft Group executives speculated that the last drinks at the stadium may have come from post-game tailgates rather than inside the stadium, where alcohol service is stopped shortly after the start of the third quarter. They also said they offer free drinks to designated drivers and an area for pickup by ride-hailing vehicles.

Birks added that his restaurant will have to act aggressively to lower the number and they won't be satisfied until the number is zero.
