Does Rob Gronkowsi Have a Punctured Lung?

The Patriots tight end took what he said was one of the hardest hits of his career Sunday night.

There were conflicting reports from top NFL Insiders Sunday, but the one thing that is for sure: Rob Gronkowski is hurt.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports the Patriots tight end suffered what is believed to be a punctured lung in Sunday night's loss to Seattle. He "could miss just one game," Rapoport said.

But ESPN's Adam Schefter said while Gronk does have a chest injury it is not a punctured lung and the injury is considered "not overly serious."

It is unknown when Gronkowski suffered the injury, but he took a big hit from Seahawks safety Earl Thomas that kept him down for a bit.

"That was a big hit for sure.," Gronkowski said after the game. "Probably one of the hardest I've got hit in my career for sure. ... Just knocked the wind out of me a bit, that's all."

Gronkowski missed a couple of plays after the hit, but returned to make a big catch on the game's final drive and was involved on a failed game-tying touchdown attempt that sealed the Patriots' fate.
