Man Killed by Train in Mansfield Identified
A North Dighton was killed Wednesday afternoon when he was struck and killed by an Amtrak train near the Mansfield Train Station.

MANSFIELD, MA — The North Dighton man has been identified as the victim of a fatal train accident that took place last week in Mansfield.
Mark Rose, 47, was killed Wednesday afternoon when he was struck and killed by an Amtrak train near the Mansfield Train Station.
At 2:44 p.m. Wednesday, police in Mansfield responded to a train accident involving a pedestrian. The accident took place between the station and the Chocolate Factory, according to the Mansfield Fire Department. Witnesses confirm that Rose was attempting to cross the tracks from the Crocker Street side of the tracks.

Due to the accident, commuters were transported between Mansfield and Sharon by bus and the train station was closed Thursday morning. Several cars had to stay overnight because Rose was hit very close to the parking lot, according to ABC Providence.
