Date Set For Carmela Denneno Corner Dedication Ceremony

A sign marking the corner will be placed in front of Denneno's Pizza in honor of the pizza shop's late owner.

STOUGHTON, MA — The day to remember the life of one of Stoughton's most beloved residents has been set.

The dedication of Carmela Denneno Corner will be held Oct. 1 at 3 pm. A sign marking the corner will be placed in front of Denneno's Pizza in honor of the pizza shop's late owner. The selectmen approved the sign Sept. 5.

Denneno passed away at the age of 86 in July and operated the restaurant for over six decades.

She is survived by her children, Mark D. Denneno and his wife Kathleen of Bridgewater, Robin A. Cedrone and her husband Robert, Steven F. Denneno, David A. Denneno and his wife Mary and Peter J. Denneno and his wife Patrice all of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, Richard and Angela Cedrone and Alex, Trent, Victoria, Evan, Emily, Noah and Isabella Denneno. She was the sister of Marie Federico of Pembroke and the late John Nuovo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, according to her obituary.

The day is pending approval from the selectmen, who will vote to make it official Tuesday when they take the proposal up as part of their consent agenda.
