Radio Shuffle: Major MA Stations Switch Owners
Radio station owners are swapping stations due to the CBS Radio-Entercom merger

BOSTON, MA —The CBS Radio-Entercom merger means a few radio stations in Boston have new owners.
The Beasley Broadcast Group announced Wednesday that they have traded Magic 106.7 and $12 million to Entercom Communication for 98.5 The Sports Hub. The companies will start operating their new stations upon the completion of the the CBS Radio-Entercom merger.
News station 1030 WBZ, classic rock station 100.7 WZLX, urban adult contemporary station 97.7 WKAF, and talk radio 680 WRKO will go to iHeartMedia, formerly known as Clear Channel.

The Sports Hub now joints the Beasley family, which includes local stations Alt. 92.9 WBOS, Hot 96.9 WBQT, 102.5 WKLB, 105.7 WROR, and 1330 WRCA.

The Boston stations of the new post-merger Entercom will feature 93.7 WEEI, 103.3 AMP Radio, Mix 104.1 WBMX, 107.3 WAAF, and ESPN Radio 850.
iHeart stations in Boston include rap station Jam'n 94.5, top 40 station Kiss 108, and country station 101.7 The Bull.
Due to radio regulations, Entercom was forced to divest from a handful of stations.
CBS Corp merging its radio business with Entercom would create the second-largest U.S. radio broadcaster by revenue, Reuters reports.
