5 Charged In Quincy Fentanyl Investigation

A two-month investigation has resulted in five arrests by the Quincy Police Department.

QUINCY, MA — A two-month investigation into a fentanyl distribution operation has resulted in five arrests for the Quincy Police Department.

During the investigation, police learned that the targets, identified as Giovanni Bautista and Justin Reyes, ran an illegal distribution business out of a Ford Expedition and an Acura TSX.

As a result of that investigation, police executed a search warrant on Copeland Street Tuesday and seized about 57 grams of fentanyl, 33 grams of cocaine, $2,688 in cash, and prescription medication, according to the Quincy Police Department.

During the execution of the search warrant, an infant was located inside the home. The Department of Children and Families was contacted and is involved.

  • Giovanni Bautista, 24 of Quincy - Charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute (subsequent offense), two counts of possession of a Class C drug with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug control laws and reckless endangerment of a child.
  • Justin Reyes, 18, of Dedham - Charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a Class C drug with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug control laws.
  • Jennie Rodriguez, 28, of Quincy - Charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a Class C drug with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug control laws, and reckless endangerment of a child.
  • Luis Bautista, 27, of Boston - Charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a Class C drug with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to violate drug control laws.
  • Christian Marrero-Santana, 22, of Boston - Charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a Class C drug with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to violate drug control laws.

In Dedham, police seized brown powder believed to be fentanyl, packaging materials, $4,500 in cash, and a firearm from Reyes' home. Reyes is expected to face charged in Dedham District Court. The other four are due in Quincy District Court Wednesday.
