Sage School to Present Seussical Jr at Orpheum

The Sage School Theater Company will be presenting a production of "Seussical Jr." at 7 p.m. at the Foxboro Orpheum Theatre located in Foxboro Center, May 25.

This fantastical show brings to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination--Jojo.

The Sage School Theater Company consists of 30 students in grades five-eight who are members of the school’s Afterschool Theater program. This program is designed for students who are interested in studying theater more in depth under the guidance of Arts Department Chair and Performing Arts Teacher, Danielle Bazinet and Sage Alum, Christian Pirnie ‘05.

Students audition for speaking and singing roles, but many other students participate as members of the chorus and also work as set crew, creating sets and props to use during the show.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our students to participate in a full scale musical at the middle school level,” said Bazinet. “Having the opportunity to work with the Orpheum Theater is a wonderful introduction for them that may lead to future performing opportunities in secondary school and community-theater.”
