Sam Berns Community Field Stands, Track Heading To Town Meeting
Residents will have a chance to vote on the final parts of the Foxborough High School turf field.

The funding for the stands, press box, and an eight-lane track will be voted on at the yearly meeting as a capital improvement project item. The proposal is part of a long term goal from retired Superintendent Debra Spinelli and current schools head Amy Berdos to build out the Foxborough High School campus. The three items come in just under $1.2 million, according to Business Administrator Bill Yukna.
School officials say that they have been informed that the funding is there if they want it, leaving a town vote the only thing standing in front of the project,

“The indications we have on the school side and Finance Director Randy Scollins is that this is a good time to peruse this,” committee Chairperson Bruce Gardner said.
The addition of the track and stands means that the football and track teams would be able to compete at the high school, rather than the Ahern Middle School.

The school is also moving forward with work on the concession stand and restroom. That building will include separate storage areas for all the booster clubs and will take up to four months to construct. It is believed that the building will be ready for the fall season.
