Search for Dog Park Site is Back

The Conservation Commission will have their first meeting on the issue Monday night.

An old debate is coming back, but Town Manager Bill Keegan is hoping it’s without the infamous contentious nature.

Tuesday, Keegan briefly touched on a renewed effort to bring a dog park to Foxborough, telling the selectmen that he would like to use a process similar to the one used for the new Town Hall.

“Consider me a glutton for punishment but it’s been discussed with me the issue of the dog park has once again come about as a point for consideration,” Keegan said.

Like the Town Hall Working Group, Keegan said he would like to get a group of residents in a room to discuss the issues and concerns, then come up with a solution.

Specifics were not discussed as the process has not reached that point, with nothing likely to be official until the proposed working group reaches a conclusion.

“My concern is if we reach a conclusion too quickly it will not be understood and the goal will not be met,” Keegan said.

The Conservation Commission will take up the issue at their meeting Monday night at the Boyden Library. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
