Sebastian Vollmer Released by New England Patriots

Vollmer joined the team in 2009.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — It looks like a long-time member of the New England Patriots is no longer a team.

Sources tell Field Yates of ESPN that offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer has been released by the team. He spent the 2016 season on injure reserved following shoulder surgery and a hip injury.

A German native, Vollmer played college football for the University of Houston and was drafted in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He was a second team All-Pro in 2010 and has played the entirety of his professional career for the Patriots.
