Selectmen to Talk Medical Marijuana Tuesday Night

The selectmen will meet with a company looking to open a medical marijuana dispensary on the corner of North Street and Route 1.

A company hoping to open a medical marijuana dispensary in Foxborough will discuss their plans with the selectmen this week.

On July 21, the selectmen will meet with Beacon Compassion Center at 7:55 p.m. to discuss the proposed dispensary to be located at the former gas station on the corner of Route 1 and North Street.

The area, which is zoned for a medical marijuana dispensary, has gone unused for years.

Before Beacon Compassion Center can set up shop, they must receive a vote of support or “non-opposition” from the selectmen.

In 2012, the town voted to support medical marijuana dispensaries in Massachusetts 5,519-3,755.
