Tom Brady's Stolen Super Bowl Jersey: Texas Rangers On The Case

Brady said he put it in his bag, but when he checked, the jersey was not there.

HOUSTON, TX — If you have Tom Brady's jersey from Super Bowl LI, you now have the Texas Rangers to worry about.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced Monday that the Rangers have joined the Houston Police Department in the investigation into the missing shirt.

"Tom Brady’s jersey has great historical value and is already being called ‘the most valuable NFL collectible ever.’ It will likely go into the Hall of Fame one day. It is important that history does not record that it was stolen in Texas," Patrick said in a release. "I’m a Texans and Cowboys fan first, but the unquestionable success of the Super Bowl in Houston last night was a big win for our entire state and I don’t want anything to mar that victory."

Brady could be heard in the locker room following Sunday's 34-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons searching for his jersey. In video posted by Yahoo's Shutdown Corner, Brady asked around for it, telling staff that he put it in his bag, but it was no longer there.

Martin Rogers of USA Today reported that Brady looked flustered as looked around and asked security officials and equipment managers to help find it. Other players assisted in the search, but Brady could be heard on video saying, “If anyone sees on eBay, a jersey for sale."

Monday morning, Brady said the jersey has yet to be found.

Whoever took it is asked to turn it in by Houston police, the Texas Rangers and likely the majority of New England.
