Storms Plows Through Foxborough's Snow Removal Budget
The recent storms has left a huge dent in the town's snow removal budget.

The historic snowfall seen in Foxborough and the rest of the area has as expected, taken a huge toll on the snow removal budget.
Through Jan. 31, the town has used its $215,000 budget. An emergency has been declared to allow for the use of an additional $250,000 in planned contingency funds according to Town Manager Bill Keegan.
In addition to the funds, the town is tight on space at their snow farm and low on salt with little on the way.

“We’re running a little short on materials which is consistent with what other communities are enduring as well,” Keegan said at Tuesday’s selectmen meeting.
The two storms that have dropped over three feet of snow on the town have left public works employees at times working around the clock to plow the roads and clean sidewalks. Unfortunately, there appears to be very little relief in weather on the way. The National Weather Service is expecting more snow starting this weekend.

Despite the materials crunch, Keegan is confident that the town can manage a way through the treacherous weather.
“We’ll get through it, we always do. We’re New Englanders and we’ll get through it,” he said.
