Super Bowl LII: New England Patriots Vs. Philadelphia Eagles

MINNEAPOLIS — Super Bowl LII is set: The New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles will play Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis to determine this year's NFL champion. Tom Brady and the Patriots is looking for his record sixth Super Bowl championship, while the underdog Eagles are playing for their first title.

The Patriots got back to the Big Game with yet another comeback. Brady led the Patriots to an astounding fourth-quarter rally against the upstart Jacksonville Jaguars to win the AFC Championship Game, 24-20. The Eagles dominated the Minnesota Vikings, 38-7, to win the NFC Championship Game.

New England will be playing to win its third Super Bowl in the last four years. Philadelphia is playing in its third Super Bowl in franchise history, the last one coming in 2005 against these Patriots. The was a 24-21 New England victory in Super Bowl XXXIX.

The Eagles were - then weren't - supposed to be here. Philadelphia was the top team in the league for most of the season, but lost MVP candidate Carson Wentz when the quarterback tore his ACL in Week 14. The Eagles emerged from the NFC thanks in part to a more-than-capable stand-in job from backup Nick Foles.

The Patriots will be looking to pluck some more birds en route to another championship. Tom Brady helmed historic comeback victories against the Seahawks and Falcons the past few seasons, racking up his fourth and fifth Super Bowl championships in the process. The 40-year-old is still rewriting history books and looks to be on top of his game.
