Stoughton Teen From 100+ MPH I-495 Chase, Crash Will Face Charges

Police had terminated the dangerous chase before learning the suspect drove into a utility pole in Foxborough.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A suspect that allegedly led police on a high speed chase crashed into a utility pole early Wednesday morning after police had given up the chase has been identified as a 15-year-old from Stoughton.

Police said that around 2:44 a.m. the suspect nearly struck a cruiser while blazing down Interstate 495 North at a speed of more than 100 miles per hour. Police initiated a chase, but terminated it minutes later when the suspect got off at Route 140 in Mansfield and reached a secondary road.

The suspect shortly after crash into a utility pole on Cedar Street in Foxborough. The car appears to have been split into two pieces.

The driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. His name has not been released.

A gun was recovered at the scene of the crash.

The teen will face charges related to the incident, State Police said.

Repair crews remain at the scene as of late Wednesday afternoon.
